Church of the Brethren in the Czech Republic
The Church of the Brethren in the Czech Republic was founded by the missionaries of the Free Church of Scotland and congregational missionaries from Boston as the Free Reformed Church in 1880. After World War II, it adopted a new name the Unity of Czech Brethren. The denomination expanded into Slovakia, and new Polish and Slovak members were gained. In 1961 it adopted the current name. The church is congregational in church government and increasingly Reformed in theology. In 2004 the church had 9,000 members and 55 congregations. 〔http://www.reformiert-online.net/adressen/detail.php?id=12163&lg=eng〕 It affirms the Apostles Creed, Athanasian Creed, the Second Helvetic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism and the Westminster Confession of Faith.〔http://cb.sk/index.php/o-nas/teologicka-orientacia〕
